We take part in the first edition of the Hospital Clown programme ‘Sonrisas Ciudad de Palma de Mallorca’
In addition to providing the best possible care for our patients and their family members, at Clínica Humana we have always been committed to offering help and assistance for society in general and particularly those that are ill. Due to the nature of our work, we are fully aware of the suffering experienced by both patients and their families, which is even harder to bear when the patients are children. For this reason, on Saturday, 8th October, we took part in an event organised by the medical charity Asociación Sonrisas in the children’s wing at the Son Espases Hospital.
This first edition of SONRISAS CIUDAD DE PALMA DE MALLORCA included children from the various paediatric, paediatric oncology and ICU wards. The aim was to put a smile on the faces of these young patients, offering support and treating them to a morning filled with visits, activities and fun. And quite honestly, we believe we managed to do just that.
It was all thanks to the work of Asociación Sonrisas, an organisation whose mission is to bring joy and wellbeing to sick children throughout Spain in order to make their situation a little bit easier, whether they are in hospitals or children’s homes, etc. As the Association itself explains, they are present wherever a child is suffering as “a child’s smile has no boundaries”. The security forces and emergency services (Spanish Civil Guard, national and municipal police forces, the fire brigade and the army) also took part in this event.
At Clínica Humana we are immensely proud of having been able to make our own small contribution to such a worthy cause.
